Ariel came to SCGSR about 8 months ago, a sad senior girl who was in heart failure and didn’t stand a chance without rescue. Ariel’s prognosis wasn’t great, and she went directly into hospice foster. Her heart failure causes her to slowly fill lose protein into her abdomen, and she goes to the vet to have fluids drained every so often. But Ariel has surprised us all, she is enjoying life for perhaps the first time, and she’s not ready to give it up yet. She can still cuddle the cat and give him a good chase when he needs one, and she can still take care of her doggie pal Claire when need be.
Ariel still hops in the car to go to the vet, and she would drive if she had a license. We thank you for your support, and hope you’ll consider making a gift to our double donation campaign to help us continue to bring joy to needed dogs. Give a gift now – it will be doubled!
Ariel at the shelter, and Ariel now.
