Kind, regal, and absolutely stunning, Hermann is the quintessential German Shepherd.
This well-mannered red and black 5 year old lost his home because his owner had to move into an apartment. He is housebroken, rides well in a car, walks nicely on a leash, is friendly with other dogs, and good with children. We suspect he may even be able to live with cats! Hermann will be well-suited to almost any family with his medium energy level and his eagerness to please.
Quiet in the home, Hermann bonds with heart to his special people. Here’s an update from his foster mom: ” Hermann is super sweet! He LOVES tennis balls and is learning the “drop it” command while playing fetch. He is eager to learn, and looks at me with a very attentive and expressive face whenever I talk to him. He’s had some basic training, and is overall well-behaved, but can benefit from additional training and reinforcement of manners. We’re working on heel, shake, and sitting-up from a down position. Hermann likes to cuddle and stick close by my side when feeling extra affectionate. He is good at meeting new dogs, but just a little excited. He may appear large in some pics, but I think he’s more of a medium shepherd, a good compact size for someone who doesn’t want a jumbo GSD! Overall Hermann is mature, has done well alone at home (no destructiveness/separation anxiety) while we’re at work…and has mostly been pretty mellow and quiet.”
