Xena came to SCGSR from the shelter as a tiny baby. She was blind and nearly feral. Our volunteers worked hard to socialize and train Xena and the reward was fantastic. It turned out that she had likely had a head injury and her eyes still worked but her brain wasn’t interpreting what she saw. Over time she has regained a lot of that ability and the vet believes her improvement will continue. She also learned to love people and other dogs and is able to be handled safely. She loves swimming and she loves treats, she’s a fast learner and she now has the perfect family to continue her journey to being a healthy and well loved girl.
