India
India has been in dora candyland games to play
her foster home for a week now. She's eating holistic puppy food and has gained 8 pounds in one week, from 42 to 50.1 pounds and 15-20 pounds to go! India is a very special German Shepherd girl, quiet, loving, unassuming, so gentle with the other dogs and even puppies in her foster home. India is the type of dog that keeps us rescuing, the thought of losing such a gentle and loving girl in a shelter is just too much to bear. India has been examined by our vet and the great news is she's healthy!
Poor India was found beaten, starved, covered with parasites and dumped in San Bernardino. San Bernardino is a tough place for a stray, but the animal control officers felt so sorry for India, they took her to the animal hospital for treatment instead of the shelter. SCGSR then stepped in and our wonderful volunteers worked together to bring her to San Diego.
Her eyes in these first photos look a little bright, but that's to be expected from a girl who's been starved nearly to death. Indy's going to only have the best of care for the rest of her life to make up for her suffering, that's SCGSR's promise to her.
If you would like to meet India, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
